Introducing XM Team Spotlights!

Learn about the faces behind the Sage eCommerce platform in our monthly Team Spotlights. We will be meeting each and every team member at XM and we are excited for you to get to know them a little bit better! This month, we will be meeting Kyle McGill!

Kyle McGill

Senior Operations Engineer

Kyle is the Lead Technical Engineer for Infrastructure at XM and helps to lead development projects with various other teams. He is focused on client success and is an invaluable member of the XM team. Let’s meet Kyle!

What led you to work at XM?

I think that XM provides it’s clients with an excellent, well scoped idea to help other business enter into the world of eCommerce. That is what led me to work here and play an integral part in developing the product for the last four and a half years!

What do you like to do outside of work?

I mostly spend time with my family. With 3 kids and a dog, we spend a lot of time out and about with sports, shopping, or mini adventures down to the local park.

Why eCommerce?

There is a lot of potential in the eCommerce industry, with many ways to create an ideal experience. Additionally, my role  lets me handle large amounts of traffic and keep services running smoothly – this is what I find interesting!

What is the best concert you have ever attended?

I was 16 and went to an annual concert called Big Day Out in Auckland, with leading acts such as System of a Down, Slipknot and Chemical Brothers. It was great!

Where did you grow up?

I grew up in Tauranga, New Zealand, a sunny spot in the North Island commonly known for its amazing surf beaches and bustling cafes.

What are you most proud of?

My children.

What is your favorite holiday?

Saturday and Sunday – because I get 52 of them.

If you could get one fully paid vacation, where would you go?

I would love to go to Japan.
